Mrs. Caitlin Keener

About

Caitlin Keener, a licensed social worker, earned her bachelor’s in social work from Lourdes University and her master’s in social work from Bowling Green State University. Caitlin has extensive experience conducting psycho-education groups to teach social, coping, and adaptive behavior skills to students receiving special education services. She also developed a “Life Skills Lab” in Summit Academy Toledo to assist students in learning independent living skills and a “Community Closet” which served the families of Summit Academy Toledo by providing food, hygiene products, clothing and other resources. Most recently, she served as a Regional Special Education Director for Summit Academy Management, where she provided oversight to the special education programs in nine schools. In 2020, Caitlin was named the Emerging Leader for Region 1 of the National Association of Social Workers Ohio Chapter. In 2021, Caitlin was chosen to speak about her work using targeted social groups to improve academic functioning in students with autism at the Milestones National Autism conference and was selected as Milestone Outstanding Educator at the 2021 National Autism Conference.
